Guys...when you call a girl pretty do you mean it?

this guy with the worst attitude said to me (jokingly) "yooo i'm about to smack the sh_t outta you" but then he took my hand and was like "but i'm not 'cause you look real pretty today" that was hands down the nicest thing he's ever said out his mouth to anyone i know including me!. breakthrough much?
