Please someone help me withthis?

my ex has a battery charge agints him for hitting me like 2 days ago. i really do not want to go through all of this all the court and everything. right now hes in jail and he has a illegal narcotics charge agints him also. i just want to be able to forget ad move on. should i keep the charge or drop it so i dont have to deal with it.
