Do men excpect us to call?

If yall are still going out and haven't called all week but still are going somewhere with this girl you've been dating are you excpecting her to call or something? I mean this guy and I are no longer dating, we've changed to just freinds (not over the calling issue) However I have to ask, he said him not calling was because he was busy wih things like work and school and I accepted it and accepted the fact that we we'rent anything serious. For future reference, should I have been more demanding?
